Jackie Patten Remembering..... December 2, 2012

I had the pleasure of cutting drakes hair for a few years....that little guy brought sooo much joy in my times I was able to spend with him.  His vivacious personality filled the room with joy and warmth.  Even if we only spent minutes together per month, they were memories i will always cherish through my career as a barber.  Most of all was when he was finished with his haircut...he and I would always play tag before he left, him making sure I was the last one it as he ran out the door....  Well Drake....
I'm still the last one "it"....some day, I hope to play again.
Rest in peace little man.

Rob and Becky Graze Remembering Drake December 1, 2012
We are so sorry to hear about Drake passing. He was truly a special young man. We think of him every time we come across one of Rob's dad's Bombwing magazines. We enjoyed speaking to him the few time we saw him and will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
Joe Stein Drake was an All-Star December 1, 2012
I knew Drake through coaching him in Special Olympics soccer and track. Drake was the highlight of my day. Never did I see him frown. I've never met a person with more of a zest for life.

They say it's not the years in your life but, rather, the life in your years. Drake epitomizes this truth.

Though Drake may not have known it, he taught me more about life than I could have imagined. My experience with the inspiring students in Special Olympics at Dunlap has brought new perspective to my life. Drake is undoubtedly among the most influential.

What a beautiful spirit! Though Drake's physical presence has met its time, his legacy lives on.

Drake made the world a better place just by spreading his smile, and he will be missed.
Joanne & Del Holman In Memory of Drake and God Bless his family December 1, 2012
Several years ago I worked as Playground Supervisor at Tanner's Orchard and had the occasion to see Drake.  I knew just seeing him and his interaction with people that he had devoted parents who helped him accept his disability.   Our sympathy goes out to you at this time -- our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Linda Burton prayers for a special young man December 1, 2012
I was very sad to see the news of Drake's passing.  I met him and heard more of his story by talking with him and his mom at the Riverfront Market where he would sell his unique jewelry.  I passed on his story and jewelry as gifts to friends, and I missed seeing him at the market this year.  I'm wearing a pair of his earrings today in his honor.  What a special young man and what a special family he had.  I'm sure I am one of many people who met him through happenstance and whose lives were touched by him.  My prayers are with the family.

My heart aches for your entire family.  Bev and Randy especially!   You have devoted your life to making Drake's life the best it can be.  What model parents you have been.  Drake's absence from this life will be difficult for many.  He was such a light.   I don't think I ever saw him negative about anything.  Who doesn't want to be around that?  Even though small in stature he would engage those around him in such a way that would captivate the whole room.  I remember when he was in the family life center at Northminster, there was always people around him.

I can picture Drake in heaven right now.  He'll be whole and in no more pain.  I'm not sure if he'll be tall or short, but I am sure he will already be captivating the throngs of angels.

My prayers will continue as we all live in Drake's absence.  Praise the Lord that you can celebrate that Drake's little life was not in vain and was certainly not a waste.  He loved Jesus and he impacted more people than most do in a full lifetime.

Kendra Briggs In Memory of Drake December 1, 2012
I am truly sorry for your loss.  I knew Drake from Sam's Club since he was an infant.  He was the highlight of my day where I would give him  samples of frozen yogurt or he'd come back to the meat dept and ask me for his rotisserie chicken.  I loved his great smile and love for life that he displayed. Even though I haven't seen him in years, I thought of him often.  He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.  God now has a very special angel.
Jane Meginnes Friend of the Family December 1, 2012
Our sincere sympathy for your loss. Bev & Randy & extended family: The nuturing, devotion & love you displayed to Drake was evident to all. God knew what He was doing when he gifted you with Drake. I am working Sunday eve & Monday days so I won't be able to convey my condolances in person. Drake may have been physically small, but he had all the really big qualities we all aspire to. We will miss his big smile & hugs! Praying for your broken hearts.
